METHODOLOGY FOR EMERGENCY RESPONSE PLAN
1. OBJECTIVE
Contain and control incidents so as to minimise the effects and to limit damage to persons, the environment, property and company reputation
Ensure Emergency Response Team (ERT) is aware of their responsibilities and trained to perform their duties during a major emergency efficiently.
Ensure a rapid and effective response to all emergencies round the clock.
Ensure timely response & coordination between industry and external organisations such as Oil Companies, Government Departments, Civil Defense, Hospitals and Police
Communicate the necessary information to employees, Clients, sub-contractors, the public, police, civil defence, other relevant government departments and agencies.
Provide for the restoration and clean-up of the environment following a major accident
Ensure proper documentation of all events and surrounding circumstances of the emergency situation for the purpose of evaluation and lessons learned
To list the emergency actions to be followed
To define the communication channels for coordination of an emergency response
2. SCOPE
The plan identifies departments and individuals that are directly responsible for emergency response and critical support services, and it provides a management structure for coordinating and deploying resources.
