The purpose of this guideline is to provide a systematic approach for assessing hazards and associated risks, ensuring objective measurement and control of identified hazards. This aligns with the Occupational Safety and Health Act 1994 (Act 514), which mandates employers to maintain safe workplaces. The Hazard Identification, Risk Assessment, and Risk Control (HIRARC) process aims to identify potential hazards, evaluate the likelihood and severity of risks, and help employers implement and monitor effective preventive measures to control these risks.
